The Rock Films was formed by film director Alexey Uchitel in 1991. It was called so after the documentary shot by Uchitel in the Perestroika period in Russia. Now the studio is producing films, both feature and documentary. One of the most high-priority work directions is the studio’s debut-line. It let a number of young and talented directors create their first films. During the last 17 years our films have received more then 40 awards at different international film festivals. |

The Berlinale Co-Production Market is a two-and-a-half-day event for about 450 international producers, sales agents, distributors as well as broadcasting and funding representatives active in the field of co-production.
Berlinale director Dieter Kosslick describes the Berlinale Co-Production Market as “a home for international producers and financiers attending the Berlinale.” Here they find what they usually look for at a festival: high-quality international projects, excellent business contacts and new opportunities for co-operations.
Desember 15th
Japanese distributor PIONIWA has picked up the rights for Dreaming of Space by Alexey Uchitel, the best film of the Moscow Film Festival 2005 and winner of the Golden Eagle Award 2005.
November 15th
The winner of the Cottbus Film Festival of the Eastern European Cinema 2008 was film Captive by Alexey Uchitel (Rock Film). This year Captive’s producer Kira Saksaganskaya was member of the International Jury of the festival and Rock Film Studio presented its project Little People at the East West Co-production market Connecting Cottbus.

Early autumn, godforsaken Russian countryside. A local hunter Michail witnesses a skirmish in the middle of the forest - three men want to kill the forth, Andrey. Kind-hearted Michail helps Andrey escape and together they run from the villains who chase them. Thus, two totally different men start a long and dangerous journey together, constantly arguing with each other regarding their ideology, morals and opinions about life. But life will put everything on its place and make the men understand who they really are.
